1. Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
2. Turn to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post that sentence along with these instructions in your LiveJournal.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

"I didn't even have time to close my eyes."

From "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyers, which just happens to be on my desk because someday I want to make text icons from it.

Dad got the scope down his throat today and they found that he has a severe bleeding ulcer.  They took him off a few of his meds and gave him some Prilosec and he is home now!  I have to get up in 3 hours so we can head to the airport and go to Florida.  I am just so glad he's home and I got to see him before I left.  He looks tired but good, I think being in the hospital really drains a person.  My mom said to tell you all that his abdominal pain is from an ulcer and not from her cooking. :)

I'll talk to you soon I'm sure.  I can't stay away for long. lol

Tomorrow I am going to the happiest place on Earth for the first time!  Yay!

Night :)

I downloaded the LJ app for my iPod touch. So now I can write entries anytime and upload them when I have Internet! I love this thing.

Today is my first physical therapy appointment. My knee has been really hurting lately and locking up and clicking when I walk so I hope therapy helps. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

This week is so stressful. We have a double test on Friday and I am not ready. My goal tonight is to read ALL the notes and answer the questions. I hope I can stay focused. :(

I'm home so I guess I'll post this now and get to work......

tomspud posted this in his journal and I like it so much I'm posting it in mine. It's Keith Olbermann's Special Comment: The Passage of Prop 8.

Finally tonight as promised, a Special Comment on the passage, last week, of Proposition Eight in California, which rescinded the right of same-sex couples to marry, and tilted the balance on this issue, from coast to coast.

Some parameters, as preface. This isn't about yelling, and this isn't about politics, and this isn't really just about Prop-8. And I don't have a personal investment in this: I'm not gay, I had to strain to think of one member of even my very extended family who is, I have no personal stories of close friends or colleagues fighting the prejudice that still pervades their lives.

And yet to me this vote is horrible. Horrible. Because this isn't about yelling, and this isn't about politics.

This is about the... human heart, and if that sounds corny, so be it.

Read the rest hereCollapse )

I was going to post something else tonight but I'm tired.  I got nothing done tonight really but I helped out some friends so that's something.  Night.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN  MY FRIENDS!

I hope you all have a wonderful day, especially if you have kids and are taking them trick or treating!  I'll have to post a photo of Sunny in his costume later, he's super cute!  Hopefully you'll get one of me too ;)

*gasp* I never uploaded my Halloween icons.... *is sad*  A Jared Padalecki icon will cheer me up since I get to see a lot of him this weekend! :D

Snagged from foreverbm

01. Think of the first word that comes to mind when you think of me/my journal.
02. Go to Google Images and search for that word.
03. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results (don't tell me the word).
04. Put this in your own journal so that I can do the same.

This weekend should be fun...I'm going to Kalamazoo so that Nathan, Danielle, Tilley and I can watch the season of Dante's Cove that came out on DVD most recently.  Such an amusing show, we love it (and love making fun of it!)  :)

Ten years ago today, Google was founded. In that time, how has Google changed your life, and do you ever go out of your way to avoid its omnipresent power?
I love Google.  My gmail account is the best email account I've ever had.  It filters spam so well!  I added my college email account to it because the college warned they would NOT send messages to other accounts so I thought things might be important.  That account gets TONS of spam and gmail filters all of it out, I never have to worry about it.  I haven't really tried to avoid google.  Their ads aren't obnoxious and it's all easy to use.  <3 Google :)

1. My dad fell yesterday and did quite a number on his shoulder. He's going to the doctor tomorrow...please keep him in your thoughts and prayers because I'm worried.

2. I love my (fixed) Mac. I may have decided on a name but more people need to vote! Go two posts back to find the poll!

3. I got my nose pierced this weekend! I'll try and remember to post pics tomorrow! I only hurt a little and so far has caused me fewer problems than any of my ear piercings. I wish I had gone to a tattoo place to get those now. Just today one of my lobe piercings was bugging me and I had to take it out for a bit. The nose piercing has been no trouble, I even wore my CPAP nose piece the night I got it pierced!

4. Barack Obama is officially the Democratic nominee. I will vote for him of course but it still makes me sad that Hillary is not the candidate. :(

5. Some stupid girl on the news made Democrats look bad by saying this after being asked what she thought of Obama being the official candidate: "Well, I want to know where he stands on the issues because I'm going to vote for him but I don't really know what he stands for." I get that she wants a Democrat in office but don't be so ignorant sounding on tv. sheesh

6. I want this update to be done so I have no excuse to stay up.

7. I don't want to go back to GR on Monday, I am dreading sleeping alone in my apartment for the first time. Sunny may have to sleep on the bed.

8. It's lonely in here without Rayna.

9. I wish things could go back to being the way they used to be when all my best friends were in the same place. I miss everyone.

10. I can't wait to see Amanda on Friday!!

11. I love my mom so much. I can't even express it in words.

12. I saw MIrrors last night...good for the shock/pee your pants scariness but the end was pretty sucky. I was glad though, I was afraid that the movie would scare me really bad and it didn't.

13. This is a good number to end on so I'm gonna go brush my teeth and hopefully the update will be done when I get back.
